Based between New York City and my hometown of Baltimore, I am a documentary artist with a black & white darkroom based practice.
I work to confront the erasure of dispositions, community, and place. I make images exploring the blanket of kinship that covers my diaspora; meditating on the histories and futures of land. My self portraiture practice is a journal of my interior and exterior experiences that ultimately challenge the ways in which my body is scripted and subvert the ways in which my inner self is perceived. Performance, in-camera tricks, and staging are used to express my spiritual, emotional, and corporeal realities.
