I make images of people, places, and ideas of home.
Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, I am a New York City based photographer using traditional darkroom techniques to document underrepresented perspectives, specifically within my own diaspora as a Black and Trinidadian American. I studied Fine Art at Pace University with a concentration in video and graduated in May of 2020. I took classes and was a teaching assistant at the international center of photography from 2018-2020. In 2019 I received a grant to research and document the effects of highways and municipal neglect on familiar neighborhoods in Baltimore. The project was exhibited at my university in March of 2020 and published in my school’s academic journal in 2022. In 2023 I began using a darkroom to make prints. Working in a darkroom again begun a rebirth of technique and style that has grounded my work in truth and tangibility.
